from the UPPERS — The college’s commemoration of Martin Luther King, Jr., “Dreams Matter,” begins Monday morning with a breakfast, humanities lecture, and candlelight vigil.
Shirley F.B. Carter will present a prayer breakfast in the North Lounge. Her memoir is entitled of Colored of Course (2007) and chronicles her journey through inequality, according to the college.
Edward McGushin, Ph.D, associate professor of philosophy, will deliver the freshman humanities lecture, “Martin Luther King, Jr.: An Extremist for the Cause of Justice.”
A candlelight vigil in commemoration of Dr. King will be held Monday evening at 7 o’clock on the steps of the Abbey Church.
