College blogs provide instant information and a snapshot of colleges that readers might not find anywhere else.
Student-run blogs about college life are making an impact on campuses around the country, the Chronicle reports.
But a word of caution. These sites are not successful when they are “smashing some sacred journalism traditions” (as the article lists, “quaint rituals like editing, striving for objectivity, and verifying rumors before publication”). Rather, these websites succeed when student-journalists publish news, insight, and content that is relevant to students and the college’s community.
