Health Reform Qualms Play to Republican’s Advantage, Professor Says

Posted at: 8:04 PM ET
At stake in the Massachusetts senate race is the future of health reform in the United States, but people will vote as in a local election.

The Massachusetts senate race between Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Scott Brown is influenced by the current debate over health care, psychology professor Elizabeth Ossoff, Ph.D., told WMUR-TV.

“It certainly is an important senatorial race, not just for Massachusetts, but the whole country,” Dr. Ossoff, a Massachusetts resident herself, said.

In addition to teaching in the psychology department, Dr. Ossoff oversees the four research centers at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics. Until this fall, she was coordinator of the Jeanne D. Smith Center for the Study of American Democracy and Citizenship at the N.H.I.O.P.
